Three materials. Same design, same price per square foot, different wall.

Every design in the catalog prints on any of the three. Pick by the wall and by how long it stays, not by the picture. All three are matte.

Non-Woven Paste-the-Wall shown on a wall
Breathable non-woven, paste applied to the wall, butt-joined seams.

Non-Woven Paste-the-Wall

The classic. What most designers specify. $6.50 per square foot.

What it is
A breathable non-woven backing (cellulose and polyester fibres) printed with water-based inks. Matte finish, no shine.
How it hangs
Paste goes on the wall, not on the paper, and the dry panel is laid into it. Non-woven does not stretch when wet, so seams butt edge to edge with no overlap and stay closed as it dries.
Walls it suits
Smooth and lightly textured painted walls, plaster, primed drywall. The forgiving choice for an older house.
Taking it down
Dry-strippable: at the end of its life it peels off in whole panels without steaming, leaving the paste to wash off.
Cleaning
Wipe with a damp cloth. Not scrubbable.
Best for
Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways, feature walls that stay up for years.
Not for
Renters who need to remove it without a trace, and rooms with standing steam.
Peel & Stick Fabric shown on a wall
Woven fabric, repositionable, PVC-free. Smooth painted walls only.

Peel & Stick Fabric

Peel it, stick it, move it if you must. $7.50 per square foot.

What it is
A woven polyester fabric with a low-tack, repositionable adhesive on the back. PVC-free. Matte, with the faint texture of cloth.
How it hangs
No paste, no tools beyond a squeegee and a knife. Panels overlap by half an inch; you can lift and re-lay a panel while hanging.
Walls it suits
Smooth walls painted in eggshell, satin, semi-gloss or gloss that cured at least 30 days. Contact area is everything for an adhesive.
Taking it down
Peels off in one piece from the walls above. On flat or fresh paint and on textured walls it can pull paint, which is why we say so before checkout, not in the returns policy.
Cleaning
Wipe with a damp cloth.
Best for
Rentals, nurseries and kids rooms that change every few years, a first wallpaper project without an installer.
Not for
Textured walls, flat paint, bathrooms with a shower.
Commercial Vinyl (Type II) shown on a wall
Scrubbable Type II vinyl for commercial spaces. Class A where certified.

Commercial Vinyl (Type II)

For walls that get touched, bumped and scrubbed. $11.00 per square foot.

What it is
Type II commercial vinyl, the medium-duty class of the CFFA-W-101 wallcovering standard (about 20 oz per square yard). Matte, smooth or lightly textured depending on the stock we quote.
How it hangs
Paste the wall, butt seams, 54-inch panels: fewer seams on a long corridor. We recommend a professional installer for this one.
Walls it suits
Primed drywall and plaster in offices, clinics, restaurants, hotel corridors and shops.
Taking it down
Strippable in sheets when the space is refitted.
Cleaning
Scrubbable with mild detergent; that is the point of it.
Best for
Commercial interiors and any wall a fire marshal or a facilities manager will ask about. Fire-rated stock is available; ask for the certificate with your quote.
Not for
Rentals and quick changes: it is priced and built to stay.

What we do not print on yet

Canvas, grasscloth, silk, metallic and embossed papers. The linen, seagrass, grasscloth and plaster designs in the catalog are printed looks on smooth non-woven: the texture is in the picture, and up close it reads as a very good photograph of the material, not the material. We say this on every one of those design pages. Real textured stocks come with our own press.

Which one for my wall

Which material for a bathroom?
Non-woven paste-the-wall for a powder room or a bathroom with good ventilation, Type II vinyl where walls get wet or wiped daily. Peel-and-stick fabric does not like standing steam.
Which material for a rental?
Peel-and-stick fabric on smooth painted walls that cured at least 30 days. It peels off in one piece; our removability guarantee covers exactly those walls.
My walls are textured (orange peel, knockdown). What now?
Non-woven paste-the-wall. Adhesive-backed fabric needs contact area that texture takes away; paste bridges it. Heavy texture is worth a photo to us first.
Is the finish glossy?
No. All three print matte. The peel-and-stick fabric shows a faint cloth texture up close; non-woven is smooth and flat; vinyl is smooth or lightly textured depending on the stock.
Do you print on canvas, grasscloth or silk?
Not yet. Our linen, grasscloth and plaster designs are printed looks on smooth non-woven: the texture is in the picture, not in the paper. Real textured stocks are on the list for when our own press opens.
Why does peel-and-stick cost more than non-woven?
The adhesive-backed fabric costs us more to buy and carries its own glue, so you skip paste and an installer. Non-woven is the cheaper stock and the classic.
Can I see the material before I order a wall?
Yes. A 12×12 inch sample of the actual design on the material you pick is $9 and comes off the wall order.

Spec sheets (weight, fire certificate, washability class) are the supplier's and are sent with a quote on request. Removability terms in full: the guarantee.
